Value your happiness
Never undervalue happiness, and never believe that unhappiness can be solved with by a pay rise or a promotion.
I have stayed on at jobs because I believed the money way good or promises that had been made, even when I was unhappy, and the worst part of this was that my unhappiness at work split over onto my personal life. The best part of these jobs was letting go and moving on even when I did not know where I was going.
These days I am focusing on enjoying myself as much as possible, working closely with people who bring out the best in me and not getting angry when people do things that I think are stupid - after all I do stupid things as well.
More than this, I try to have conversations around best practise, to understanding other peoples viewpoints, and see how the differ from mine. This allows me to grow as a person and a developer, learning along the way and hopefully, just hopefully, helping others along the way as well.
